Homes in the inner Suburbs.
In Ashburton, we wanted to create a not your average suburban building. It has to embody simplicity, timelessness and most importantly a design that sits with the landscape. The Australian landscape in Ashburton is tree line and lush with vegetation.
This project is a good example of a suburban subdivision whereby we use a typical material pallet and optimises good land use through orientation, provides ample natural light, use roof eaves to protect windows and good natural orientation.
The houses are inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robbie House and exaggerates the horizontal landscape while creating a sense that the roofline gently hovers above to protects the building.
The propose looks at how we can optimise the conventional suburban development with great logic, order, landscape to provide a quality homes for people.
