We approached this project by asking: “How do you build Townhouse in the Suburbs?” From there we discovered a few important themes; natural light, good use of space, privacy and functionality.

The building works in harmony with the landscape. Each townhouse has its own individual entry from a landscaped laneway. The central driveway provides good separation between buildings and allows large north facing living areas to every townhouse. Materials is robust, timeless, local and readily available; brick, weathertex and timber.

We approached the exterior design with a natural, low embodied energy and light theme materials palette. The street interface is a series of interlocking blocks which creates movements and excitement. There are patterns of a regular pattern and moments of relief to create separate, flowing and harmonious building forms rather than a flat façade.
